Toronto Star Article
In reflecting upon the
futility of Canada's interventions against terrorists, the Toronto Star's
Mitch Potter makes a great insight into how warmly receiving Muslim refugees to
Canada can actually work against the Jihadist's attempt to divide the world into
either the camp of "the crusaders" or "the caliphate".
According to ISIS'
own writings, they fear a "grey zone" where Muslims live in peace
with other non-Muslims: thus, by welcoming Syrian & Iraqi refugee families,
we can actually work against the violent extremists, instead of adopting their
"us versus them" mentality!

Where are Canada's Syrian Refugees Coming From?
Following the Paris attacks, I expected to see an article written by a Canadian Muslim faith-leader like this eloquent piece from an Imam in Ottawa in today's London Free Press (November 21, 2015), however I was pleasantly surprised to read this report by Matthew Fisher (reprinted from the National Post, 11/20/2015) from the refugee camps in Lebanon. Clearly, we do not have to fear that terrorists or economic opportunists are going to be the ones coming to Canada: neither of these groups are interested in waiting out the years it takes to work through our refugee system. Fr. Matt
